About The Wine Guide

The Wine Guide exists because wine advice is usually terrible. It's either too simple ("just drink what you like!") or too pretentious ("note the tertiary aromas of leather and tobacco"). Neither is actually helpful.

We write for people who want to drink better wine without spending years studying it. That means real recommendations at real price points, honest opinions, and explanations that treat you like an adult.

Our approach

• Every recommendation is based on real tasting, not PR samples or sponsor pressure.
• We state our opinions directly. If a wine is overrated, we say so.
• We explain the why behind every recommendation so you can make your own judgements.
• Price matters. Most of our guides focus on wines under $30.
